Nexcified doesn't sell or register domain names. You register your domain yourself, with a domain registrar, so it's always legally yours. We guide you through it and then connect it to your Nexcified hosting.
Why register it yourself
- Your domain is your business's address online. Registered in your company's name, nobody else, not a former agency, developer or staff member, can hold it back from you.
- You stay in control of renewals, ownership and where it points.
Choose a registrar
| Domain ending | Where to register |
|---|---|
.ng, .com.ng, .org.ng | A registrar accredited by NiRA, the Nigerian registry. See nira.org.ng |
.com, .org, .co, .net and others | An ICANN-accredited registrar, such as Cloudflare Registrar, Namecheap or GoDaddy |
Compare the renewal price, not just the first-year offer.
Register it
- Search for the name you want and add it to your cart.
- Enter your company's legal name as the registrant (owner).
- Use a company email address that will always be monitored, such as
admin@or a shared mailbox. Avoid a personal or one staff member's address. - Turn on auto-renew and keep a valid card on the account.
- Turn on the registrar lock (transfer lock) and two-step verification for the registrar account.
- Keep the login in your company's password manager.
Connect it to Nexcified
Once it's registered, point it to your Nexcified hosting. It takes a few minutes: see Connect your domain to Nexcified hosting. We give you the exact nameservers or records to enter, and we check the connection for you.
Someone else registered your domain?
If a previous developer or agency registered your domain in their own name, ask them to change the registrant to your company, or to move the domain into a registrar account you own. Open a support request and we'll tell you exactly what to ask for.
Important: Never share your registrar password by email or chat. We never need it: you make the changes yourself using the values we give you.
